Makalu Base Camp Trek is one of best trekking destination in eastern part of Nepal. Located east to the Everest region; Makalu Base Camp Trekking is most challenging and marvelous camping trail in remote Himalaya of Nepal.
Trekking to Makalu Base Camp is the great introduction to world 5th highest peak, Makalu and Makalu Barun National Park, internationally recognized for diversity of floral and faunal species and known as the last remnant of pristine forest and environment. Due to its relative inaccessibility and remoteness, Makalu Base Camp Trek comprise beaten-off trekking route and alpine environment that is totally isolated from outsiders. Until 1952, the region was completely closed but Eric Sipton visited the area crossing what known as Shipton La. Likewise, a French team made the base camp and climbed to the Mt. Makalu via North West Ridge in 1955, the same route used by Jagged globe team during 2011 expedition.
The trail features the majestic view of Chamlang Himal, Barun Glaceir, and Everest and of course the gigantic Mt. Makalu. Having wide range of altitudinal and climatic variations, the region is blessed with the remarkable and diverse habitant for rich floral and faunal species. Beautiful mountains, pristine landscapes and diverse plant and animals and warm hearted local people are the major highlights of the trek.
Makalu Base Camp Trek is ideal for experience trekkers who are good at walking for 5/6 hours each day carrying light rucksack. Makalu Base Camp Trail sometimes goes through rough terrain and sometimes crosses the area of moraine. Basically, the second part of the trek is difficult but possible with experienced guiding coordination.
Day01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1,300m) and transfer to the hotel

Day03: Trek from Num to Seduwa (1,500m/6-7 hours trek)
Day04: Trek from Seduwa to Tashigaon (2,100m/5-6 hours trek)
Day05: Trek from Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3,500m/7-8 hours trek)
Day06: Acclimatization and rest day at Khongma Danda
Day07: Trek from Khongma Danda to Dobate – 7-8 hours trek
Day08: Trek from Dobate to Yangri Kharka (3,557m/7-8 hours trek)
Day09: Trek from Yangri Kharka to Langmale Kharka (4,410m/7-8 hours trek)
Day10: Trek from Langmale Kharka to Makalu Base Camp (4,870m/7-8 hours trek)
Day11: Exploration day at Makalu Base Camp
Day12: Trek from Makalu Base Camp to Yangri Kharka – 6/7 hours trek
Day13: Trek from Yangri Kharka to Dobate – 6/7 hours trek
Day14: Trek from Dobate to Khongma Danda – 5/6 hours trek
Day15: Trek from Khongma Danda to Sedwa – 7-8 hours trek
Day16: Trek from Sedwa to Num -5/6 hours trek
Day17: Trek from Num to Tumlingtar – 6/7 hours trek
